Welcome to Cong Camping, Caravan and Glamping Park
Located On The Border Of Counties Mayo and Galway in Ireland's Lake District
Cong Camping, Caravan & Glamping Park is a small family run Park located in an area of outstanding beauty – 1 mile from the beautiful village of Cong in Connemara. Cong was the only village listed on TripAdvisor's top 10 Irish destinations in 2018 and 2019. The village is an inland island surrounded by water, with quaint shops and cafes and historical ruins dating back as far the 12th Century.
While it is easy to spend a week or more enjoying the many things to do and see in Cong (see our Things to do page), the Park is very centrally located only 20 miles from the Wild Atlantic Way at Killary Harbour and 26 miles from Galway city and Westport – an ideal base from which to explore the west of Ireland, including the Aran Islands, Achill Island and the Marian Shrine at Knock. With the wonderful new motorway Cong is now only 2 and a half hours drive from Dublin.
Cong Camping, Caravan & Glamping Park is an Irish Tourist Board approved Park and we were proud to receive the Tourist Board's Customer Service Excellence Award in 2019, and Covid Safety Charter in 2020. We offer modern facilities including a shower block, campers' kitchen, sitting room, mini-cinema, laundry, BBQ area, children's playground and free Wifi throughout. The John Wayne movie The Quiet Man is shown nightly in the mini-cinema as it was filmed in Cong.
Across the road from Cong Camping, Caravan & Camping Park is Michaeleen's Manor B&B – a 4* Failte Ireland approved Bed and Breakfast and on the camping site is Lakeland House self catering accommodation with private ensuite rooms and shared communal kitchen facilities, both of which are ideal for family members of campers and caravanners.
Cong Camping, Caravan & Glamping Park is 5 minutes walk from Ireland's finest brown trout and salmon fishing on Lough Corrib and 10 minutes walk from the world famous Ashford Castle. Hawk walks are a real treat at Ireland's School of Falconry at Ashford Castle and Cruises on Lough Corrib depart from Lisloughrey Quay 5 minutes walk from the Park.
There is an abundance of outdoor activities on the Park's doorstep - from kayaking, horse riding, cycling and walking trails through the 2,000 acres of woodlands that surround Cong to more adventurous mountain climbs in Connemara including the Maamturks, the Twelve Bens, and Croagh Patrick – the Holy Mountain of Ireland's Patron Saint.
The area is perfect for dog walking and dogs are very welcome provided they kept on a lead and their owners clean up after them.
Local maps of the area are provided at the Park free of charge.
Come to Cong to unwind, relax and return to nature. Cong once seen is never forgotten.
